There are varying schools of thought behind what makes the perfect sloe gin. From when to pick the sloe berries for the perfect plummy ripeness and whether to prick the skins before sitting them in gin, to how long you should wait before popping the cork and tucking in to a glass.

If you're planning on making sloe gin at home this autumn, read these guides, give it a go, and don't forget to tell us how you get on!
